Our Staff & What They Do
Our ministry aspires to meet the needs of the people, whatever that entails, going beyond standing in the pulpit and preaching the word, but doing as the bible says - go out into the world and preach the gospel. There is a saying, “preach the gospel, and if necessary, use words.“ We encourage the members to get out beyond the 4 walls, and play and active role in the lives of the people around them. They are a true believer in living the life, the life God commands us to live the life that Jesus set as an example. Living by His two commandments which were 1st to love God, and 2nd love people. Jesus led a life that found Him in many places besides just the Temple. He was out and among the people, meeting whatever need they may have. If they needed healing, he was there, if they needed deliverance, he was there. If they needed a miracle, he was there. Whatever that looked like, including Pulling money out of a fishes mouth or turning water into wine. Sometimes people’s needs aren’t just spiritual ones, and Jesus actually did and does care about the peoples everyday needs, and that is what is taught at CLG is to be that servant of God, that goes about doing good, preaching the Good News and bringing glory to the Father each and every day.
Pastor Marcus Wasson
Co-Pastor Michelle Wasson
Pastors Marcus and Michelle Wasson have been the Pastors of Church of the Living God since opening in March of 2006. They have won many souls to the Lord, and have baptized more than a few into the family of God. They have a true burden for souls of men, and a special heart for the Young People. Before they became Pastors, they were Youth Pastors, both here in Bangs, and Brownwood Texas, and also in Minneapolis Minnesota. The life that Jesus led is our example. Pastor Wasson and his wife were blessed with 4 daughters, 4 Son-in-laws, 9 Grandchildren and 2.5 Great Grands! They have resided in Brownwood Texas for most of 43 years.
Assistant Pastor Rongey Madlock & Serena Madlock
Bro. Rongey Madlock gave his life to our Lord Jesus Christ when he was 17 years old. He began to grow in the admonition of the Lord. He let the Lord use him and he eventually started to evangelize and preach the Gospel. Sis. Serena Balfour started singing in the Church Choir. She united with her sisters, cousins and friend to create a Gospel Singing Group called the Gospelettes. The Gospelettes sang in Churches around Texas and surrounding states. Sis Serena returned from California and gave her life to the Lord at 22 years old. The couple have 6 children, Alexandria and Amya Madlock, A’Kisha, Gerald, Taaj and Shinisha Ward with 9 grandchildren and 1 on the way. God has truly blessed them.
administrator & leader of the women’s ministry
Kevelle Bailey is the administrator and the leader of our women’s ministry “Sister’s helping Sisters”. Sister helping Sisters meets once a month. The mission is to be a sister one to another, helping and encouraging each other. Kevelle is married to Charles and they have a blended family of four boys, Rashad , Xavier, Derrick and Charles, one daughter Aliyah and one grand son Zion.

Brother Douglas San Juan Jr is the team leader of the men's group at the Church of the Living God, Called “Men on Fire”. We started this men's group about almost 4 years ago to reach men for Jesus.
I have been involved in ministry preaching the gospel for over 35 years And have traveled to other countries as well as all over this country. I share the vision and the burden very deeply with pastor Wasson and his wife for Winning souls in this area and around the world.
Praise Team Leader & Children’s Ministry
Shauntel McGlothin has been working with Church of the Living God’s children’s ministry for over ten years. Her mission is to bring the love of Jesus to everyone, no matter the age.. Shauntel is also a Praise team leader, and sings in the choir. She says, “Lifting up the name of Jesus Is the only thing I know. Exalting Him through song is the way I worship. It is when I feel closest to Him. It is my gift that He has given to me, that I have learned to give back to Him.” Shauntel has two children, Asiyah and Anias, and has been married to Deacon Derrick McGlothin for 17 years. She is a Pre-K Teacher for Brownwood ISD.

We are blessed with the worlds best Deacons! There is nothing that they wouldn’t do for the Church, or the Pastor, to make happen what is ever necessary for the continuous ongoing and upkeep of the Ministry. They have been with the Church basically since its humble beginnings and they continue to astound us with their desire to serve God on a any and every day basis.
Deaconess Mary Ramirez
We have a Deaconess in our Church and that is Sister Mary Ramirez. There is nothing going on in the Church that she does not have her hand in. She volunteers for everything we endeavor to do and brings her family with her to help! She is a true Servant of God, giving of her time, physical efforts and resources to get done any and every job. She keeps us straight and keeps us running and we cannot do without her and her faithfulness and her faithful family! May God always truly bless and reward her for her Heart of a servant.
Notable Mention
We are blessed with some astounding Deacon wives both Sis Angela DeShields and Sis Camille Moss who both who serve in the choir, and do everything from the spiritual to the natural for our Church. Praying, Ministering, cooking snacks for our crumb snatchers, working inside the broadcasting of the services. They are valuable gems in our Church crown!
